Bust out the paper mache, it’s time for arts and crafts. If you’re free, commit yourself to a creative project of some sort, just to keep the juices flowing by releasing the tension of pent up inspiration. Although you are more assured in your stylistic abilities, the piece you’re working on doesn’t have to be your magnum opus, and really, it doesn’t even have to resemble “art” in the way that most people expect art to appear. Even the baker with the bun in the oven is an artist, but it is up to him to consider himself so.

You have cultivated your special talents for a long while, but are they actually real if left unrealized in the realm of the unseen?

self-expression-paulo-zerbatoPhysicalizing your vision is as easy as painting your bedroom door a different color, or constructing a coffee table from the bits and pieces you find your recycling bin for a customized classic. Maybe your friend, the most popular teacher’s assistant at the local elementary school, needs help designing the costumes for the fourth graders production of “Wizard of Oz”, and you are the helping hand she needs to hot glue the rhinestones and sew on the sleeves. After the wardrobe is ready, why not spend the night at an improv theatre, where you and your besties can get on stage and be possessed in the body by the spirit of “yes, and…” until you forget your name and who you came with?

The beauty of art is that it encourages evidence, so be bold, get messy, and leave a creative trace.
