It may feel like your ultimate objective is foreign in that it exists outside of you. It’s out there, but it’s not at all in close proximity or easy to reach. You want it now without having to go out of your way, but as you are confronted with the reality of distance, you begin to wonder if you even want it anymore. It may seem as if you have to give up the center piece to complete your puzzle, but it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that doesn’t make much sense.

Perhaps the direction toward which you are being guided isn’t in agreement with your individual value system. Maybe your idea of yourself and who you are and what you are capable of is incongruent to your aspiration. It’s like you know your calling, but you’re unsure of how exactly you are supposed to get from here to there without selling your soul or sacrificing the rhythmic style of your method.  So yes, maybe it’s not for you after all, but what if it is and you just haven’t seen it clearly yet?

Instead of allowing your worries, neuroses, and self-proclaimed shortcomings to keep you separate from your sense of destiny, take all your personal resources and core characteristics and identify ways in which you can alter their respective functions, even if these alterations challenge your notion of the world and your unique existence within it. For example, if you enjoy being alone during your downtime, but your vocation requires you to be a social butterfly, why not envision a new way to be interactive without actually having to compromise your solitude? Where there is a will, there is a way.

Take the things all the tools, tricks, defaults, and preferences you have in your arsenal, even if those things seem irrelevant or out place, and reframe them so that they fit in your bigger picture. Not all differences are irreconcilable. All it takes is a little creativity and a fair amount of magic.
