10 Ways to Win 2017! [#SuccessfulSuggestions]

If you’ve read my article “2017: The Power of 1“, you know exactly why everyone is so excited. 2+0+1+7 = 10, and 1+0 =1, making 2017 a “1 Year” in the context of numerology. We are about to embark on an all new 9 year cycle, and that is refreshing after all we’ve experienced from 2008 to 2016.

Since one article was not enough, I have written a second article,
a list of “10 Ways to Win 2017!” according to me: Nicholas Dumas Dillihay.

  1. Establish A Motif

“Motif” might be my favorite word. I learned it from my first dance teacher, Ms. Lisa, in 11th grade. Ms. Lisa shared with us how she used motifs to guide and inspire her choreography, and she encouraged us to do the same. So, what is a motif exactly?

The way I see it, a motif is a big idea that brings focus to a creative work through the use of repetition and variation.

Out of all years, a “1 Year” like 2017 is perfect for maximizing a big idea. When faced with a blank canvas, however, we sometimes tend to complicate a process that is best kept simple. I think establishing a motif is the smartest way to clarify and cultivate a creative intention.

Imagine I’m a choreographer whose resolution in 2017 is to create a dance that captures the essence of pregnancy. Pregnancy is now my motif, so I might have my dancers start off on the floor in fetal position, revisiting this move periodically throughout the duration of the piece to convey life in the womb. Whenever I’m at a loss, which is inevitable for most artists, I can always return to some variation of that same fetal position, as well as any other action that evokes the pregnancy motif to which I committed myself in the very beginning.

What if I don’t consider myself an artist, but my 2017 goal is to be taken more seriously by colleagues, superiors, and/or potential employers? With professionalism as my motif, I might update my wardrobe to include a couple nicely tailored suits and a briefcase to replace my amateur-ish backpack. I’d most definitely streamline my resume and update my LinkedIn profile, in addition to cleaning up my other social media pages to reinforce my professional image. Instead of reading trivial fiction, I’d be ensconced in business-oriented self-help books from reputable masters. If I’m feeling super ambitious, I would go as far as enrolling in a specialized class to sharpen my skillset and show off my certificate when I graduate. See how much can be done with one singular motif?

A motif is specific, yes, but there is freedom in that specificity that keeps it from getting boring or redundant. Motifs are focused but expansive at the same time because they force us to take consistent and relevant (but slightly varied) action, and this is why a motif can eventually lead to the solidification of a successful lifestyle. While everyone else is setting the same old superficial, flash in the pan New Year’s resolutions, you might just achieve better success by establishing a motif that speaks to the highest intention of your soul. 2017: THE POWER OF #1
an Intuitive Fusion Report
By Nicholas Dumas Dillihay

If it feels like everyone is excited for 2017, what you are witnessing is the truth. As always, the reason is as simple as addition.

2 + 0 + 1 + 7 = 10. In numerology, single digits are all there is to consider, so 10 becomes 1 + 0 = 1.  Thus, 2017 is considered a “1 Year”, the beacon of a brand new 9 year cycle. What we began in 2008 [the last 1 year] has come to fruition and it’s time to hit reset. No wonder we’re so excited.

[Be sure to read my follow up article, called “10 Ways to Win 2017]

You see, 1 is a number of pure energetic potential. Anything can happen, and it often does. Spontaneously. Think of the big bang. A raw, creative force, highly concentrated and infinitely powerful, this volatile energy vibrates at such a frenzied frequency that the rhythmic friction becomes a universe, complete and complex unto itself. This universe contains all of eternity and so it is full of active possibility, just like the number 1. Isn’t that exciting?

When 1 is the prevailing number, a new context is born, and nothing else matters except what is happening now. The form is unprecedented and the rules are up in the air. It is up to each individual to perceive the pattern, put a name on it, and make it work. After all, power is nothing if wielded irresponsibly.

Because numerology is an integral part of most mystical mediums, it might be helpful to do some lite interdisciplinary research in order to better comprehend the essence of the number 1 (as it pertains to the year 2017, which is a numerological ‘1’ year, as we have already calculated). Tarot, for example, is one metaphysical system that works with numbers in a pretty obvious way. Thankfully, Tarot [unlike the regular playing card deck] is also full of archetypal, illustrated tableaux that speak to the deepest part of the collective unconscious mind. The first card in the Tarot’s Major Arcana is The Magician. Because The Magician is Tarot card #1, it is an image worth considering before and during 2017, as its themes are likely to be particularly relevant.

The Magician, as one might imagine, carries a magic wand in one hand. Wands and staffs are phallic symbols, just like the number 1, a similar symbol of externalized power. Magicians use wands to direct [and divert] our attention by shifting focus in order to manipulate reality. The magic wand is a tool of command and concentration. Every one in 2017 will be both encouraged and challenged to take control of his or her life by living a more deliberate existence. One’s actions are more effective when aligned with one’s aspirations, and one’s aspirations are fulfilling when they originate from a place of love, truth, and gratitude. Continue reading

Numerology of the Day: 7
[12/13/2016 = 1+2+1+3+2+0+1+6 = 16 = 1+6 = 7]

It took God 6 days to create the world, and on the 7th day he rested. Accordingly, 7 is the number that prompts us to stop, seek out solitude, and meditate on the idea of scientific perfection. 7 is also considered a lucky number. From the days of the week to the traditional planets of the solar system, 7 is a highly symbolic number that helps us here on earth make some sense of the the world we live in. Maybe that’s why it takes 7 years to graduate from the teenage stage of life, to process everything absorbed in childhood and reach some level of mature understanding. By the completion of the third set of 7 year intervals, the 21 year old is universally recognized as a legal, consenting adult. It’s a coming of age story that is liberating, but potentially terrifying for those who fear the consequences of their own free will.

Major Arcana Tarot Correspondence: The Lovers

As the sixth card in the tarot’s Major Arcana, The Lovers evokes the balance needed to unify life’s opposing forces, the best example of which is the fateful union of two stars that are bound by divine celestial orchestration to cross paths. The nature of such an encounter could go either way, but whether it is the dawn of an incomparable romance or the figurative golden apple that incites the best epic, the archetypal attraction depicted in this card has the power to alter the course of history.

As profound as it can be, a love like this isn’t guaranteed to last forever, although its myth might just be legendary. This energy is subject to changes of heart, clandestine love affairs, and the scandalous revelation of a double life. Paradise is as easily indulged as it is revoked by a higher power or, perhaps worse, coveted by envious onlookers. There is no way to anticipate how it will all end, so the only option is to be mindful of all associations and to adapt to the infinite variety of variables at any given moment.

The Full Moon is the monthly separation of the Sun [ego, identity, expression] and Moon [empathy, intuition, emotion], as they assume their most distant positions in opposite signs. This great space between our luminary bodies allows for a more comprehensive awareness of the energy that has been building, as the moon is illuminated to maximum capacity, revealing momentarily the mysteries of the creation cycle that once were [and will be again] concealed behind the nocturnal veil. Just as visibility increases to supernatural proportions, the emotional atmosphere is heightened prompting what seem to be unusual experiences and outbursts. The earthly realm becomes a mirror image of this cosmic standoff. Holistic awareness and dynamic self-expression are the blessings of the full moon, but a long overdue confrontation could be the prerequisite roadblock that makes it challenging to receive them. The goal is to recognize hidden facets of self instead of projecting dark revelations onto partners/opponents. Then and only then will personal balance be made possible, and thus all else is resolved. In the meantime, as the opposition builds, be prepared to go back and forth.
