2016’s Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse in Libra is exact on March 23rd @ 8:01 am EST.
The Sun [in Aries] opposite the Moon [in Libra] shines a light on our interpersonal conflicts, and wishfully, our capability to maintain a peaceful balance, or at the very least, fight for justice. Aries energy thrives on conflict, whereas Libra is thrown off by disagreement, although Libra will gladly seek retribution when treated unfairly until balance is restored.
Aside from the Sun [conscious will] and Moon [subconscious instincts] being opposite, as they are every Full Moon, there are some other notable aspects happening at the climax of our monthly lunar cycle.
Asteroid Ceres [the all-nourishing mother] will be minutes away from an exact conjunction with Chiron [the wounded healer] in Pisces, the sign of mysticism and illusion. This asteroid conjunction is close to forming an exact opposition to the North Node [destiny] in Virgo, the sign of purity and self-improvement. This could indicates some sort of trauma event from the past, maybe some sort of loss or separation, that has been left unresolved, but is now resurfacing. In order to move forward, as the North Node urges us to do, we have to confront yesterday’s wounds to cultivate healing. This aspect also indicates a potentially self-sabotaging tendency to become unhealthily attached, perhaps to addictive substances as Ceres/Chiron occupy Pisces.
The next notable aspect is a square between Jupiter in Virgo and Saturn in Sagittarius, which is exact at the same time the Full Moon reaches its climax. This aspect indicates a crisis that revolves around the dichotomy of expansion [Jupiter] and contraction [Saturn]. Yes, the tension surrounding our growth and maturity is likely to be highlighted, but the discomfort of this square aspect will motivate us to get up and do something about it. There are no corners to be cut when it comes to our advancement, and although the work we have to do may feel at times burdensome, the reward will be well work it and long lasting. This aspect may also illuminate some issues with authority and personal responsibility, in addition to the sociopolitical issues [Sagittarius] that are all over the news right now.
It is important to note that this isn’t only an ordinary Full Moon, not that they’re ever ordinary, but an extraordinary Lunar Eclipse. When the Full Moon is obscured by the Earth’s shadow, the material world takes precedence as we realize the gravity of the new life we have manifested. This is a new era from which there will be no turning back.
And now, here is a card reading for guidance…
We have the opportunity now to draw from all of our resources, both earthly and otherwordly, seen and unseen, to propel us to victory. Every road traveled comes with its own set of obstacles, but the trick is to use the gifts with which we’ve been blessed to overcome them. It is crucial that we know what we are facing if we are to triumph, because every challenge are best handled with case by case specificity, because what worked in one instance might be completely unsuccessful in the next. Faith that every struggle will be ameliorated is great, but we must also observe the playing field (as well as other players) to strategize a win. Continue reading
