There comes a point in time when the mind remembers everything. Without time to prepare, it all comes back to you at once, one unresolved incident on top of another. Although you can’t see thoughts, the pressure of the stress they can induce could outmuscle the most goliath forces. Gravity, for example, is much less feared. Or maybe it is gravity itself that becomes so much more oppressive in those moments of mental disturbance, when every deed you’ve ever done reemerges from the obscure unconscious with unapologetic clarity and, at the same time, fearful distortion. It doesn’t help that you revert back to the same caustic thought pattern that you had when “it” first happened.
At this very moment, you are comprised of all your experiences. They are stored within you, and they influence your behavior today, whether you like it or not. These memories cannot be erased nor done away with. They live, even when we think they’re long dead. Instead of trying to kill the past, why not try a more sustainable approach? Continue reading →
The storm has been stirred and it gets more tumultuous with each encounter, so good luck trying to contain it. In fact, the more you do, the farther it will blow when it finally comes out. Like a volcano, this brewing potion is its own entity, and it could climax at any given moment. It might explode today, or it could simmer for centuries until it cools into “what could have been”. Who knows?
Letting down your guard is as simple as recognizing unfounded thought patterns. Worrying about what might happen and how many ways you could be hurt is fearful, and thinking like that will keep you in an edgy reality of your own mind. Is it possible to deduce a different outcome, one that doesn’t involve the worst possible scenario, or must you automatically tense up with apocalyptic anticipation? By opening up more despite your vulnerability, the purity of your voice could heal someone who has been afraid to express themselves.
An eagerness to be verbally expressive could create an expansive communication between you and a social contact who has manifested success in your area of interest. Reaching out to continue a conversation that was previously initiated could prove promising. Allow anxiety to subside and trust that there are individuals out there who are stimulated by the buzz you generate, and they would derive great joy from giving you some sort of platform. Pay attention to your connections.
Today everyone is inclined to possess an awareness of drama and theatrics, coupled with a charming finesse, so The Ones who actively own their inner performer know quite well how to get away with murder when necessary. Whether you actually commit such a crime just because you can is up to you and whichever god[s] to whom you choose to answer. Morality is best left in the hand’s of the individual. It’s almost easy to judge and condemn the way others behave in this play called life, but until you live the life of someone else, it may be best not to judge their intentions. There’s always more to the story, so what’s wrong to one person may be an act of survival to the next.
Curveballs are thrown not to injure, embarrass, or harm, but to show us how well we are able to adapt to unforeseen circumstances. Just as a plot twist keeps the audience actively engaged, any routine that is interrupted serves to bring your attention back to the present moment, as well as to remind you that this existence is just as volatile as it can be stable. As meticulously as you may map out your day, there will always be surprises.
A sudden departure could leave you with separation anxiety, but in the back of your mind, you already know what it is. All things come and all things go, but then sometimes they come back again. Maybe today is the today when your unfinished business comes back from the abyss, but what happens if you aren’t ready? Continue reading →
The security you need, want, and thought you had is called into question today. Right as you settle into a safe space, you become painfully aware of the decay of all that was once unbreakable. Just like the titanic structures that are worn down by nature’s whims, you are confronted by the insidious erosion of every warm embrace that kept you safe. Question is, how do you respond to the unpredictable promise of loss?
On one hand it’s easy to drift away into a comfortable daydream of warm blankets and body heat. On the other hand, the possibility of having it all snatched away is an ever present threat. There is a part of you that would love to grow attached to something or someone that feels like home, but you remember all to well how it ended last time.
Without realizing it, you may sabotage a good thing by unconsciously creating disruptive situations and instigating conflicts. Yes, it’s true that death is an inevitable part of life, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the moment as it is. Everything – good, bad, and in between – is impermanent. The sooner you accept that, the easier life will be. Just because it satisfies you today doesn’t meant it will get you off tomorrow, but then again… why should it? Continue reading →
