Practicing your craft today means tomorrow will be well worth the wait. By taking the initiative to refine your moneymaker, you not only get getter, but also have tangible proof of the quality of your work to show when you are awarded the chance to impress someone important. Instead of having to talk big, the product you are accumulating will speak for themselves as evidence of your active ambition, which should provide a sense of security in an otherwise unstable environment.

Desires often help motivate us to achievement. When blown out of proportion, however, they can become detrimental. There is nothing wrong with sensual pleasures, but there is more to life that just fleshy thrills and material decadence. Getting caught up in the lust of the physical world can be a never-ending trap, the consequences of which you may not realize until the moment you don’t get what you want, and your adverse reaction shows you how dependent you have become on these fleeting fancies.

You may be experiencing some unexpected obstruction that throws you off course. Although it sucks not to get what you want in the moment, and you will probably sulk until someone pays attention to you, you are better off emancipating yourself from the bondage of entitlement and expectation. It’s all a lie. Continue reading

Sun [in Pisces] sextile Ceres [in Capricorn]
Moon [in Capricorn] square North Node [in Libra]
Moon [in Capricorn] sextile Mercury/Neptune [in Pisces]
Saturn [in Sagittarius] goes Retrograde

For some reason, one that you is difficult to articulate, you are in your feelings. As logical as you try to be, you are overcome by a heavy, all-consuming mood. But why the long face?

Maybe you feel like you didn’t get the response that you wanted. It could be you got exactly what you wanted, but it was taken from you before you had the chance to enjoy it fully, which incites the rage of grief in you. Perhaps you finally drank from the cup for which you longed, but strangely enough, its contents didn’t quench your thirst. However you got to this point, you are now confronted with the empty uncertainty of disappointment.

A little action goes a long way. You appreciate movement of any sort as you feel more impulsive than usual. A dynamic blend of aesthetic style and reckless abandon is the difference between yesterday’s interest and today’s irresistibility. If you were confused at all about what you wanted, now is your chance to make a bold choice. Attraction works, but your biggest asset is the confidence with which you pursue your desires.

Commitments made back in the days when you had more interpersonal patience could interfere with the independent urges that inspire you to motion today. Although having to compromise your schedule to oblige the agreements for which you have RSVP’d can be annoying, your participation in social engagements is likely to enhance your autonomy in ways you never would have realized. Moon [in Capricorn] sextile Venus/Mars [in Pisces]
Moon [in Capricorn] semi-sextile Pallas [in Sagittarius]

Love overflows. Even if you don’t immediately relate to this love inundation, it will be in close enough proximity for you to experience it. If love is a waterfall, why not allow it to fall all over you? So what if it’s unfamiliar. Drink, bathe, splash in the fountain of love as if it were made for you and watch all your worries wash away.

daily 4cast: 1/31/2015 [#StarsAndSymbols]

Sun [in Aquarius] trine North Node [in Libra]
Mercury [in Aquarius] opposite Juno [in Leo]
Mars [in Pisces] conjunct Chiron [in Pisces]
Ceres [in Capricorn] inconjunct Juno [in Leo]
Moon [in Cancer] opposite Ceres [in Capricorn]
Moon [in Cancer] trine Venus/Neptune [in Pisces]
Moon [in Cancer] inconjunct Mercury/Vesta [in Aquarius], Saturn [in Sagittarius]
Moon [in Cancer] semi-sextile Juno [in Leo]

Verbal disagreements with significant others and close confidants emerge today and require a great deal of your personal attention. You may have to adjust your schedule to pacify a needy partner, which might mean sacrificing your own to-do list in order to make it work with the other person. On the bright side, domestic disputes help you to open your mind to the other POV and teach you to accommodate the needs of the people with whom you coexist. If the differences are irreconcilable, however, you may change your mind about the commitment altogether.

Something is likely to set you off today, which makes sense as you struggle to get what you want. Even if your aggressive impulses are justified, the way you process and express your anger could possible cause you trouble. Although you try to tame your inner animal, it may feel at times like you’re being poked right in the center of an open wound, which is apt to elicit a physical reaction. It seems like they want you to blow up, but when you do, you might just burn a bridge or melt into an over-apologetic mess, embarrassed by your apparent lack of self-control.

ANGRY BIRDS Anger Management

If you are experiencing issues regarding anger management, today might be the day to initiate your own personal healing journey by examining your wound and trying to remember how it got there in the first place. Continue reading

a king without crowd: leo new moon [#StarsAndSymbols]

let’s make this quick because there are other things i am “supposed” to be doing.

geocentrically speaking, when the sun and moon come together in the same sign up in that big blue sky of ours, we call it a conjunction. instead of functioning as two separate spheres of energy, they’re fused together into one singular astrological entity. this is called the new moon.

astronomically speaking, the new moon in leo is exact tomorrow, saturday july 26 @ 6:42 pm EST. of course, many of us are feeling it now. hell, some of us have felt it all week. the sun is the core essence of our being, what makes one unique and individual from other people, our personhood if you will. the moon is the intuitive response to the vibes one receives from one’s environment based on one’s sense of security and need for comfort. solar energy is externally expressed, while lunar energy is an internal process, but right now they are indistinguishable. the conscious and subconscious parts of ourselves are united at this time. with such undivided focus, we have the potential to instigate the change we need to initiate the next chapter of our unwritten autobiographies. as previously mentioned, this new moon is in leo, the sign that lives to recreate the world in its image, so the idea that we are the protagonist of some imaginary story isn’t entirely farfetched.

with the sun and moon together in leo, we have a burning desire to stand out and be praised. for the gratification of ego [sun] and the satisfaction of emotion [moon], we demand attention, which means that the element of drama is to be anticipated. leo the lion is the king of the jungle which ensures a certain level of admiration and applause (or else!). larger than life jupiter in leo turns this sun-moon conjunction into a ménage à trois, amplifying the already insatiably over-the-top new moon. jupiter, the bigger planet in our solar system, is known to expand anything it touches. let’s hope we all find our own opportunities to be in the spotlight, or else our inner lions will roar in the worst way, devastated that they were given common treatment.

it is important to note that leo is ruled by the sun, so “the world revolves around me” syndrome could be something to keep at bay. tempers will flare when we feel we are not given the VIP treatment, especially considering mars in scorpio is making a tense square [90 degree angle] aspect to the new moon. mars, the great warrior god, wants to lead its army to victory and claim the top spot as the victor, and in scorpio, this desire is passionate and obsessive, life or death. since this is a square, it may not be a little bit harder to win the war and be worshipped than we once expected.

an orgasmic opportunity: my best week [#MyBestWeek]

Screen shot 2014-01-13 at 3.46.03 AM

this is the moment for which we have been waiting. this is the reason rappers make it rain and the athletes train, something like the olympics. so without further delay, after all this anticipation, let’s get it on! the mars card speaks with great urgency on animalistic impulse, namely that which arouses us to mobility in one instantaneous moment. this planet, revered (and sometimes feared) as a the god of war, is an archetype of singular, phallic focus and is extremely direct to the point of provocation. out of an innumerable amount of past pursuits, we all have that 1 Thing that got us trippin and slippin and freakin out (What Would Amerie Do?) because we want it so badly.

what has been driving us even crazier is the fact that this operation is covert. we have sworn ourselves to secrecy because some battles are better won behind the veil of visibility. scorpio knows that the element of surprise is an essential part of power, and there nothing more shocking than the revelation of previously withheld information. a sneak attack is a foolproof way to kill prey, so why would we broadcast our business? our actions have been bold and based in desire, but we’ve kept under wraps for so long that has grown entirely too hard to hide the evidence of our excitement.

it is not yet ours, but we can already feel it in the palms of our hands, gripping it as if it belongs to us. possession begins in the mind before it becomes real and we have been preparing ourselves for pleasure, making room in our space to take it all in. the 2nd house is indicative of what we own, both material and nonmaterial, in accordance with our system of values and interests of leisure. the luxury of lust is in the consciousness-shifting sensuality of its experience, and as long as we take our time to do it right, our perception of pleasure will last forever like the fruit of the most deeply rooted tree. if we can subdue our appetites for a little bit longer, until the opportunity is ripe for the taking, then the victory will be worth every moment we waited.

taurus full moon: magick, manifest [#StarsAndSymbols]

“What do you want to be when you grow up?” asked the hostess (Kate? Katie?) at Amada, Atlantic City’s very own Spanish tapas restaurant, located in the Revel. I was on getting change for $100 for my manager at my new job before we closed and she was the first face I saw in a sea of slot machines. The plan was to eat here for my birthday back in October, but I was ensconced in the icy inertia of a black hole, the abyss of which I am finally crawling my way out.

“I want to be everything,” I replied, excited to be on the receiving end of such a question.

Tomorrow will make a week since I started my second job at Hugo Boss, also located in the Revel. I reduced my hours at The Spa to accommodate my new full-time schedule, but I plan to balance both. For the first time since high school I am waking up before 9 AM nearly every day to work opening shifts at one job (and subsequently enduring the duration of the day to close at the other), which I never thought would happen. My life as I know it is totally shifting, forcing me to let go of ALL that has been slowing me down. Getting used to my new lifestyle is quite a rush, filling me with a sense of exhilaration that I have not felt since I left New York. As I adjust I frequently find myself in a dream-like state where almost anything is possible. [Maybe it’s my restless Mars in Gemini, but…] I am actually happy to be doubly employed.

Both jobs are at completely different ends of the spectrum. One is geared toward dressing people up with expensive suits and other high-end fashions to look good on the outside, whereas the other focuses on the inner healing power of the therapeutic arts. I work with all guys who only sell menswear at one job, as opposed to the other where I work with all females at the front desk in order to maintain the soft, tranquil ambiance of a massage & facial spa. Don’t even get me started on how I am subjected to chair-withdrawal when I leave the seated pleasure of job #1 to go stand all day at job #2.  The only similarity that comes to mind is that they are both sales-driven. Of course the more I sell, the more I get to help people (albeit in vastly dichotomous ways), and the more money I generate for the business and for myself.

This time last year I worked a week straight for the first time thanks(?) to Hurricane Sandy which left my coworkers stranded in Staten Island, not to mention the convenience of living in the same high-rise building as my work-study job. I was also blessed with a decent refund check that enabled me to do some overdue shopping and lasted me the rest of the semester. Simply put, it seems almost too easy to materialize my desires when working with the energy during this time of year, like magick manifest. If you have the urge to complicate things, don’t. Let it be. If it feels real, it is.

The Full Moon in Taurus seems to reveal all the different ways we can accumulate or even attract valuable resources, whether they are our own or other people’s. Remember, full moons are always in opposition to the sun, and the sun is now in the mysteriously magnetic sign of Scorpio, ruler of all passions secret and unseen. Whatever prize we covet during Scorpio Season, especially if you have an abundance of Scorpionic energy in your natal chart like I do, seem to materialize with surprising ease. It’s like all the slow & steady work we’ve been doing for the past six months [since the sun was in Taurus] has snuck up on us to give us a pat on the back, a gourmet snack, and the realization of our creative potential. What makes it even better is that the rewards we are reaping are very well-deserved, the result of sharing our talents and bringing out the best in other people. The illumination of this Full Moon makes it clear for us to see what we’re really worth. Continue reading
