What goes around comes around is the idea behind the number 8. Just like the symbol of infinity, this number embodies endlessness. 8 can be the gift that keeps on giving, or it can represent the shackles of bondage to an oppressive circumstance. The result of the 8 energy depends on how its power is wielded. The get back is only as strong as the put out, sort of like karma. Or exactly like karma. If every action has an equal and opposite reaction, then whoever reads this better act accordingly, or else.

Once this personal responsibility is assumed, 8 can elevate ordinary individuals to executive heights. 8 is related to the archetype of the boss, one who has self-control and well as power of the circumstances of subordinates. Ambition, business, and corporation all fall under the rule of this authoritative number. Not so positively, the number 8 may be cumbersome and sensitive to the pressures of this gravitational existence, so people who identify with this vibration must often fight through fatalism. With discipline and balance, 8 can achieve greatness.

Major Arcana Tarot Correspondence for Capricorn:
XV | The Devil

Some might say that Hell is really here on Earth. In that case, it would be advisable to look at this physical dimension as The Devil’s dominion. Who better then to call upon than this guy to make the most of this material world and master the five senses? When his energy is harnessed with “upright” intentions, The Devil can be a great taskmaster who bestows lessons of discipline and concentration unto his ambitious students. This card appears to endorse the value of not only respecting, but also working optimally within a defined set of boundaries. The ones who overstep those boundaries, however, are likely to have a much different experience of this wicked archetype upon which the unconscious idea of evil is projected.

The Devil is concerned only with the “real” world. Spirituality, enlightenment, and love are not so important in this realm, and those qualities are probably lacking when this card is drawn. The Devil is a reminder that as one endeavors toward the most impressive peaks of professional success and tangible attainment, the calculation and determination that are required to dominate the earth element leave little room for the consideration of abstract sentiment. At its most decadent, The Devil is bound unapologetically to the temporarily gratifying but insidiously destructive pleasures of the flesh, ranging from a little raunchy to incredibly grotesque, possibly to the detriment of the “higher self” and the accomplishments toward which one strives. A sacrifice might be in order.

Astrology:

The Full Moon is the monthly separation of the Sun [ego, identity, expression] and Moon [empathy, intuition, emotion], as they assume their most distant positions in opposite signs. This great space between our luminary bodies allows for a more comprehensive awareness of the energy that has been building, as the moon is illuminated to maximum capacity, revealing momentarily the mysteries of the creation cycle that once were [and will be again] concealed behind the nocturnal veil. Just as visibility increases to supernatural proportions, the emotional atmosphere is heightened prompting what seem to be unusual experiences and outbursts. The earthly realm becomes a mirror image of this cosmic standoff. Holistic awareness and dynamic self-expression are the blessings of the full moon, but a long overdue confrontation could be the prerequisite roadblock that makes it challenging to receive them. The goal is to recognize hidden facets of self instead of projecting dark revelations onto partners/opponents. Then and only then will personal balance be made possible, and thus all else is resolved. In the meantime, as the opposition builds, be prepared to go back and forth.

The Sun is giving us a glimpse into the mushy inner world of Cancer’s tough shell, but the Moon’s transition into hard-bodied Capricorn will give us a better view. Why is Capricorn considered opposite of sensitive Cancer?

the highest order is the internal experience of the emotions. sometimes how we feel inside is more valuable a focus than what is happening outside, for how we feel is often  intuitively indicative of how conducive our environment is to our holistic health and overall wellbeing. living a shiny life with toys that shine and glimmer in the light is virtually worthless if emptiness is the truth of your inner existence, and if you don’t recognize that now, the consequences are sure to catastrophic.

the end of the world [#ScrambledArt]

the best time to cry is
when you’re walking alone in the dark
because in the navy blue night
nobody can see you fall apart
into a thousand tiny pieces
fragments of an inarticulate plight
not to say there is no light
when the sun surrenders to the stars
but it is obviously
and fortunately not as bright

For some reason, one that you is difficult to articulate, you are in your feelings. As logical as you try to be, you are overcome by a heavy, all-consuming mood. But why the long face?

Maybe you feel like you didn’t get the response that you wanted. It could be you got exactly what you wanted, but it was taken from you before you had the chance to enjoy it fully, which incites the rage of grief in you. Perhaps you finally drank from the cup for which you longed, but strangely enough, its contents didn’t quench your thirst. However you got to this point, you are now confronted with the empty uncertainty of disappointment.

Solutions to the trickiest troubles come instinctually today, like second nature. You have the innate ability to comprehend the grand scheme while simultaneously tuning in to the smaller patterns at work, rearranging them if you see something that could function more effectively. Try to recall a problem you put aside and chances are you will see it differently than you’ve ever seen it before.

You are just brimming with original perceptions and one of them might make you famous. Anything is possible when you are at one with your creative potential. All you have to do is strategize, fertilize, and synchronize your actions with your vision.
That is the key to manifesting your conceptions.

Feelings of great intensity emerge out of nowhere, forcing you to make room for the tumultuous emotions that have been subconsciously bubbling inside of you, although at this point you’d rather be free some such inconvenient reactions. Despite what you think about succumbing to what you may consider a petty trifle, the object of your affection is still yours for the taking today. To seize your prize, you just might have to change your course by factoring in variables such as fear, anger, and other irrational sentiments.

ugly situations/beautiful solutions: aries full moon/lunar eclipse 2014 [#StarsAndSymbols]

Full Moon in Aries
October 8, 2014
06:51 AM EST

during libra season, when the sun is transiting the sign of the scales, we are fueled by collaboration. the easiest, most desirable way to shine is when working in unison with someone who is deemed equal, such as a friend, a lover, or a business associate. when the comfort-seeking moon inevitably transits libra’s opposite sign, aries, it becomes a bit of an emotional challenge to honor impulsive individuality without breaking a social rule or two, as the ego at its core is often more primitive and impatient than refined…

projection:i’m a good person who is offended that my charming grace is neither appreciated nor reciprocated. i’d rather go solo than have to deal with the nastiness and strife that is incited, but i can’t just give up like that. if only i could convey to them how unfairly they treat me, i know they would finally hold me in the high esteem i deserve.

swami says:

– relationships serve to mirror your internal state back to you objectively, but lately what you see triggers an irrationally violent response…

– there is a difference between a healthy partnership and codependency, and a fragile identity/ego will eventually alienate others…

– although both parties are supposed to bring something to the table, some unions are more one-sided than mutual…

the roots & the tree: capricorn full moon [#StarsAndSymbols]

one of the great things about roots is how they provide the tree with the support necessary to uphold its composure as it climbs great heights. if there is no foundation, there is no growth. that said, the fullest way for the tree to honor its roots is to challenge itself to reach higher than it ever has. after all, isn’t that the purpose of planting seeds in the first place?

with the sun in cancer, we are focused on the acknowledgment of the deepest, most familiar facets of our personhood. to nourish and protect the life force within is the instinct that keeps each species going from generation to generation. It may not always make rational sense, but thanks to intuition and the assortment of other gifts stored away in our ancestral goodie bags, we know what we have to do at any given moment to preserve this fragile existence. to sustain our lineage is encoded in our dna.

before we get too comfortable, we must remember that no matter how well acclimatized we are, every season presents its challenges. without the occasional obstacle, the experience of life would be too subjective to sustain the dynamism of authentic expression in all its completeness. that is where the full moon in capricorn, which opposes the cancer sun, comes into play. we are feeling the subconscious call to endeavor toward the practical attainment of worldly accomplishment. our survival skills mean little if we do not at some point assume responsibility for the successful advancement of the family name beyond the home and into the stratosphere of society. the tangible achievements we need to satisfy this obscure hunger are the products of structure, goals, and concentrated motivation.

my best week: 1/26/14 [#StarsAndSymbols]

Screen shot 2014-01-13 at 3.46.03 AM

*******

let’s get it started! mars is the first card, and rightfully so. this is the planet that takes the lead when everybody else is stuck trying to decide which way to go. “nevermind the direction,” commands mars. “this week means nothing if you don’t move!” action, impulse, and urgency are some words that describe the god of war. mars gets us revved up like a key twisted in an ignition. with so much raw, unadulterated energy, it is best that we are self-assured and assertively confident in our capability to steer this vehicle called life down a road that has yet to be paved.

the 2nd card pulled was taurus, the 2nd sign of the zodiac. taurus entices us to slow down and smell the roses. taurus picks up where [mars-ruled] aries leaves off and serves to solidify any enterprises undertaken by the ram. it’s easy to get lost in hustle and bustle, but the bull isn’t easily rushed, especially once it has settled itself. “i lay the foundation so you know it’s real,” boasts taurus in its most sultry baritone, while sipping on a glass of red wine. taurus knows its worth and is never pressed to prove anything to anyone, because excellence simply cannot be expedited.

next card drawn was the 2nd house, the house that corresponds to Taurus, so I will refrain from rehashing the previous paragraph. you may be wondering how mars will satiate its trailblazing desire nature when paired with the seemingly immovable physical weight that is taurus/2nd house, but don’t worry. when one is certain that one is going places in life, there is no need to worry about winning some imaginary race. most of us speed up when we see a yellow light, but this week fares best when we embrace the yielding power of the brakes. when we finally put foot to pedal we benefit from being specific, deliberate, and practical, so that regardless of which way we end up driving, we are well-prepared for any obstacle that obstructs our mobilization.
