Card 1:
“What Is My Greatest Potential This Week?”đź”®: 9 of Swords

The best way to deal with anxiety is to use it as fuel for action. Now I am able to redirect the energy of my worries into excitement that I harness to fight through fear to personal victory. 🌟

Card 2:
“What Is Being Asked Of Me This Week?” đź”®: Ace of Wands

My task is to get back in touch with my creative roots. By revisiting my artistic origins, I reinvigorate my vision and revitalize my personal power, which means that whenever I share my next opus, the impression I make on the world will be stronger and more inspired. 🌟

late 2 the rap show: mercury retrograde [#StarsAndSymbols]

prompted by my coworker’s reminder, i purchased last minute tickets to the kanye west show. when new dates were added to the yeezus tour, i suggested we buy tickets for the night of february 22nd, at atlantic city‘s boardwalk hall. we left it at that, or least i did. “seeing papa north west in the flesh would be cool and all,” i thought, but i wasn’t pressed and he didn’t seem to be either. fast forward a month or 2, and we are interested again. so, i invited my dear friend from college, and we bought tickets the night before.

after being surrounded by increasing hostility all week at work, balancing as best as possible in the midst of other people’s feuds, i was relieved to clock out on saturday and get my evening started. my coworker couldn’t find the discounted tickets he was looking for and lost interest again, but my friend from school arrived right after my shift ended. we grabbed a bite to eat at a restaurant called lugo, situated across from my job, on the revel casino floor. we took our time catching up over dinner, since we had not seen each other since right before the new year, trusting that divo-turned-daddy would be late to hit the stage.

turns out we were the late ones. by the time i stopped making wrong turns in my own city and found free parking as an alternative to the $20 casino garage, we made our way to the venue. i swore i heard his voice blaring from the stage as we passed by the concession stands and overpriced paraphernalia, but we concluded it was studio version of his song playing to get the crowd warm and whetted, and so we took the opportunity to empty our bladders. as i walked out of the bathroom, i was encountered by my cousin, an employee of boardwalk hall, and he informed me that the show had already begun. surprised, my friend and i rushed to section 111 row bb to claim our seats, wondering how much of the show we had missed, much to the chagrin of the height-challenged hypebeasts seated behind us.

what’s your addiction?: neptune in pisces [astroloco]

I’m not sure if I’m addicted to my computer, or just addicted to the Internet. Either way, my laptop is like my sixth limb. I use it before I go to sleep and as soon as I wake up. It is an extension of me, for better or worse.  In this day and age, I know I am not the only one attached to technology. We are connected to the convenience of our phones, tablets, and mp3 players in such a way that we forget how to function on our own.

Neptune is in Pisces. This is a placement of extreme intuition and sensitivity. Boundaries dissolve as we soak up collective energy like psychic sponges. Because we’re so incredibly receptive, we are prone to become emotionally overwhelmed. Pisces heightens Neptune’s evasive tendencies, so instead of opening ourselves to receive spiritual insights, some of us choose to escape into the illusory world of addiction.

When you think of an addiction, what comes to mind? Drugs, right? We’re taught to condemn drug addicts and abusers of other unlawful distractions, but many of us have legal vices that can be just as detrimental if overdone. Food, sports, masturbation… just to name a few.

addiction: the state of being enslaved to a habit or practice or to something that is psychologically or physically habit-forming, as narcotics, to such an extent that its cessation causes severe trauma.

This isn’t meant to be judgmental or negative. It simply is what it is. There is, however, a difference between pleasure in moderation and rituals of reliance. We suffer so many addictions that go overlooked and untreated. Most of us are reluctant to recognize the dependency. Remember, the first step is admitting you have a problem. If there’s something (or someone) in your life that you cannot live without, you must ask, “Who is the master, and who is the slave?”

Sobering Saturn in Scorpio makes us startlingly aware of obsession and consequence. Is the price you pay for pleasure too high? If not, keep doing what you do! If so, maybe it’s time to break the cycle. Use your newfound awareness as a catalyst for reinvention. Re-structure the way in which you manage your personal power. Realize your transformation by creating and committing to a solid set of boundaries.

What’s your addiction? Whatever it is, own up to it! It’s amazing what can happen when you take responsibility for your indulgences. Might even change your life.
