full moon reflection: 2 [#StarsAndSymbol]

Many people who don’t know much about astrology, and even some of us who work with Stars & Symbols on a daily basis, tend to fear the Full Moon. The word “lunatic” comes to mind [moon = luna]. The feminine energy is feared, and since the moon is the symbolic matrix of all feminine, the Full Moon’s emphasis on our lunar luminary can elicit irrational emotionalism in this patriarchal society. As if insanity were the only option, people expect to go crazy!

full moon reflection: 1 [#StarsAndSymbols]

image

Near the full moon, we begin to notice aspects of our personalities that make us extremely uncomfortable. Instead of recognizing that the discomfort feel stems from our own reaction to this enlightenment, it is often easier to shift responsibility onto the person who triggered our initial revelation, as this individual acts as a mirror to whatever internal conflict we are experiencing. We blame, we refrain from cooperation. We fight. It seems almost impossible to entertain the idea of our own darkness.

Whether or not these relationships will last depends on how capable we are of harmonizing the yin and yang of which we are all comprised.

Do you admit to your darkness?

As radiant as you are, the day is best seized by reflecting the the brilliance of The Ones you love. A warm embrace and a liberal lot of uplifting praise is your gift not only to your lovers, friends, and family, but also to expressively stifled strangers with whom you sympathize. Your soft-spot for those who are struggling with self-esteem issues activates the nurturing instinct in you, and in response, you do your best to make apparent the extraordinary qualities you see exuding from bodies, both physical and metaphysical, external to yourself.

vesta in aries: the purest self possible [#StarsAndSymbols]

A foreword of sorts: there’s not much out there on the asteroid goddesses, so I find myself beginning to focus more on them when it comes to special blog posts [aside from my daily 4cast horoscopes]. There are hundreds, possibly thousands of sites that track the transits of the main planets, so it is my personal mission [very Vesta in Aries, huh?] to fill the void, as I believe the asteroid goddesses bring a much needed fullness and femininity to astrology. For a quick, painless introduction of the 4 main asteroid goddesses, click here. With that said, let’s get into it.

Vesta enters Aries today until March 8, 2016 [note: she will retrograde on August 12 and dip back into Pisces before resuming forward motion on November 13], and so we begin the next cycle of personal purity, divine sexuality, and the renewal of our virginity thru ritual cleansing of mind, body, and soul. Remember, Vesta is the keeper of the flame, the sacred sister who keeps us centered, the one who we trust because she has her shit together and inspires everyone around her to do the same.

Everything makes more sense now that you’ve arrived a place of quietude and relative stillness. Now that you’re observing the world from a slower vantage point, you’re able to notice beautiful little nuances that usually go unnoticed. The constitution of nature is comprised of some timelessly intricate patterns and they are sure to leave quite an impression on anyone who takes the time to notice and appreciate them.

Just as you are cognizant of life’s simple pleasure, you are also painfully aware of the painful complexities, such as oppression, injustice, and discrimination. It hurts your head to think that such cruelty exists, whether or not you experience it personally. Why can’t life be rainbows and butterflies?

Starring:

If you were a bit indecisive or scattered yesterday, you have arrived at a conclusion today. You probably had some time to rest, reflect, meditate, pray, think things through, weight your options, and most importantly listen to your heart. Now you know exactly what needs to be done to advance to the next level and intend to get to work immediately. The question is, will you do it?

You may be tempted to withhold your verdict to avoid a response of rejection, but remember that jumping to conclusions and projecting your assumptions is a surefire way to miss an opportunity to connect. A closed mouth simply does not get fed, just as a closed heart is unable to receive the love and support it so desperately needs. How can you expect to grow and if you’re holding on to the skin that you are meant to shed for fear of being cold and exposed?

If you feel something, say something. Speak up.  Being vulnerable and revealing your emotional truth doesn’t make you weak or any less competent. If anything, it makes you relatable, which will garner support. Yes, there is a possibility that you may not get the feedback you anticipated, but life goes on.  Continue reading

It might sound like a paradox, but maintaining a healthy distance from your associates might be your best bet. Being around The Others might be too much for your sensitive soul, so try to find moments of seclusion as often as you can. If you can’t physically get away, practice detachment so that the possibility of interference is reduced. Nobody’s holding a gun to your head, forcing you to entertain exhaustingly meaningless exchanges.

ugly situations/beautiful solutions: aries full moon/lunar eclipse 2014 [#StarsAndSymbols]

Full Moon in Aries
October 8, 2014
06:51 AM EST

during libra season, when the sun is transiting the sign of the scales, we are fueled by collaboration. the easiest, most desirable way to shine is when working in unison with someone who is deemed equal, such as a friend, a lover, or a business associate. when the comfort-seeking moon inevitably transits libra’s opposite sign, aries, it becomes a bit of an emotional challenge to honor impulsive individuality without breaking a social rule or two, as the ego at its core is often more primitive and impatient than refined…

projection:i’m a good person who is offended that my charming grace is neither appreciated nor reciprocated. i’d rather go solo than have to deal with the nastiness and strife that is incited, but i can’t just give up like that. if only i could convey to them how unfairly they treat me, i know they would finally hold me in the high esteem i deserve.

swami says:

– relationships serve to mirror your internal state back to you objectively, but lately what you see triggers an irrationally violent response…

– there is a difference between a healthy partnership and codependency, and a fragile identity/ego will eventually alienate others…

– although both parties are supposed to bring something to the table, some unions are more one-sided than mutual…

a compassionate approach [#FreeWrite]

this is a follow-up or addendum of sorts to my previous My Best Week post, “the alchemist“…

in order to be thorough in the process of exposing self-sabotaging behavioral compulsions, it is valuable for one to explore them without shame, but instead with genuine, nonjudgmental curiosity. denial of these urges is not as effective ultimately as it would be to let them happen as they do. if we are strong enough to take an objective assessment after all is said and done, with a forgiving approach rather than one of condemnation, we can determine the pros and cons of our potentially destructive tendencies in an efficient way that will surely help to redirect that same energy to be used as fuel for our inherent creativity.
